Item C10
These three vintage silk kimono fabrics represent very different types of Japanese design, yet also work together to tell the story of Japanese kimono culture. The dotted geometric pattern in a faded violet would probably have been worn by an older woman to signal understated elegance. The colorful wisteria pattern on silk crepe in the middle, however, indicates the whimsy of a much younger woman who would have worn it in the spring. And the large, diagonally-cascading woven pattern in natural hues suggests a modern man who is comfortable with abstraction.
The insert is feather and down, and the dimensions are 10" x 16."
