Part of the Pearl Harbor series of Pacific War coats, item B36 commemorates the USS Arizona  BB-39 sunk by the Japanese at Pearl Harbor on December 7, 1941. It is made from WW2 era US army blankets and Japanese kimono silk from the same period. There are numerous repairs and wear across the right shoulder.

I reworked an earlier version of this coat by deconstructing the sleeves, reversing part of the coat, burning holes into the backside, and adding new panels. The heavy pleating I made under disfigures the silhouette.

Silk ties inside the front collar can be used for a simple bow closure, or an adjustable ribbon can be tied to one of two straps on the right side seam for a tighter fit.

The body is 22" in length, and the sleeves are 24." The dress form has a 40" chest.
