The seams on this Pacific War Coat are unusual. I has no shoulder seams, but it does have a seam at the waist. I made this pattern with a continuous bottom panel that wraps from the back to front.

The stenciled silk crepe has a fantastic komon dot pattern that epitomizes Japanese textile design. The incredibly tiny and perfect dots are arranged in 15 different patterns that are broken by completely abstract, random arcs.

Various repairs on the front and back include hand-stitching and applied interior and exterior patches. The interior seams are taped, the sleeves are hemmed, and the bottom edge of the coat is the original, serged edge of the blanket.

• The width is 23," the length is 25," and the sleeves are 24" long

• The dress from has a 39" chest and a 32" waist

• Interior, cotton tape ties can secure the front closed
