This is a totally new type of jacket for me, and I made the pattern from a vintage USAF bomber jacket. The armholes are large, and the sleeve panels are engineered for a reaching forward. The fabrics are taken from two vintage Japanese happi coats: one used on the left side, the other on the right side.

There are twelve panels in this coat, and I created random piecework on each panel before assembling the the finished item. Multi-directional seaming and piecework give  it a crazy quilt appearance. I used a deadstock linen quilt for the lining, and there is one interior pocket. The length is 24" and the sleeves are 30." The dress form has a 40" chest.
