This is the second piece in a new series of quilted jackets. I made the pattern from a vintage USAF bomber jacket, and the sleeve panels are engineered for reaching forward. I used repurposed fabrics from two vintage Japanese kimonos and one happi coat that I deconstructed. The fabrics are all cotton and stencil dyed with plant indigo.

I applied the fabric piecework on each of the twelve panels before assembling them into the coat, creating random intersections on the many seams. I used a deadstock linen quilt for the lining, and there is one interior pocket. The length is 24" and the sleeves are 30." The dress form has a 40" chest.
