I deconstructed a vintage Japanese cotton happi coat and used all the fabric to make the piecework outer layer for this bomber jacket. The lining is comprised of a vintage silk kimono that I also took apart. I spliced in half all of these fabrics and topstitched the selvedge edges to create master panels that all the jacket pattern pieces were cut from.

After quilting each pattern piece I used a new technique to bind the edges before assembling all 12 pieces into the overall garment. This multi-stage process yields different results every time, and it's impossible to predict the overall appearnace of the jacket until it's complete.

There is one interior pocket on the left side. The length is 24," the sleeves are 31." and the dress form has a 40" chest.
