I love Japanese happi coats. Because they are worn especially for festivals, I automatically assume that they must carry good energies and good memories. I made these Japanese worker pants from pieces of three happi that I disassembled. The fabric is a medium weight cotton twill that really showed its age when I opened the seams and hems.

I preserved the raw edge of a torn collar section which appears on the right leg. And a vintage patch job by a previous owner appears on the back of that leg as well. The pant legs are unhemmed and measure 36-38" from the waistband. The dress form measures 33" around at that point.
