I made these Japanese style worker pants from two vintage happi coats. They display the graphic stripes and circles typical of festival wear. The irregular bottom edges are mostly fabric selvedges. The left leg has no side seam (but a wrapped panel instead, so I had to improvise when inserting the slash pocket.

Stitch lines and wear marks from the opened seams of the original coats create an interplay of light and dark tones that I like. A major repair to the collar seam on the original coat is now visible on the front crotch.

These pants accommodate waist sizes in the 31-35" range.
