I made these momohiki style wrap pants using fabrics from a few different vintage Japanese happi coats. Of the four panels that comprise the pants, two have piecework running with the fabric grain, and two have piecework running against the fabric grain. The result is alternating horizontal and vertical stripes, depending on the grain.

Directional kanji lettering comes from the happi coat collars, and a large mon insignia on the right leg originally appeared on the back of the festival jacket. I sewed the large patch on the left leg using a grid pattern for the first time.

These pants accommodate waist sizes in the 31-35" range.
