Thre unique kimono silks comprise this piece. The woven silk damask in the left panel contrasts with two types of stencil dyeing in this pillow. The violet leaf and flower pattern in the central panel is resist-dyed (meaning that the background was actually stencilled with a paste that would resist dyeing), and it also has hand-applied blue accents. The landscape and roofline pattern on the right panel is actually stenciled with an opaque white pigment instead of dyes. It also has a few spots of hand-applied gold accents.

The insert is feather and down with an invisible zipper. It measures 17" x 17."
